Spider – Good Old Chap

Posted on: 11th July 2015

It's easy to see the practical use of chickens, less so guinea pigs but their value as gardener's friend shouldn't be underestimated. One summer we moved the run of our guinea pig, Spider, to different spots on the lawn, the following Autumn, we found a crop of delicious field mushrooms wherever he'd been. There must have been something special about his droppings!

When Spider died, Sue put a plywood marker on his grave saying “Spider – Good Old Chap”. She later explained that she had meant to put “God Bless Him”, but the spelling of God had gone wrong.
